More about Katie Holmes Wedding Day...
The first of many stunning moments at Tom Cruise's wedding to Katie Holmes came early: As guests – seated inside a converted 15th-century armory in Italy's majestic Odescalchi Castle – waited for the bride to walk down the aisle, the entire candle-filled room fell silent. "It was, by far, the most charged moment of the evening," says designer Giorgio Armani, who created Holmes's romantic off-the-shoulder gown. For her big day, "Katie wanted a simple, elegant dress," says Giorgio Armani. The Italian designer, who outfitted the entire wedding party, created an ivory silk wedding gown adorned with Valenciennes lace.
Other details released Saturday by the newlyweds::
• The bride: Holmes wore an off-the-shoulder Armani gown with an ivory silk train adorned in Valenciennes lace and Swarovski beaded crystal embroidery. Armani, which outfitted the entire wedding, also supplied Katie's bouquet of calla lilies, as well as a champagne evening gown, which she wore at the reception.
• The groom: Armani outfitted Cruise with a navy blue tuxedo from the Giorgio Armani Hand Made to Measure collection. The jacket label read, "Giorgio Armani for Tom Cruise."
• The couple's rings: Their wedding rings were white gold Cartier with diamonds.
